Isle of Man

Isle of Man lies in the Irish Sea between Britain and Ireland. The island is a British Crown dependency, with its own Parliament (Tynwald), which legislates all domestic affairs including taxation. The legal system is closely based on English Common Law. The national currency is the Manx Pound, which is on par with the UK Pound Sterling. Currently, no foreign exchange controls are in existence. The island’s official language is English, but owing to the Celtic origins, it also has its own Gaelic language that is spoken by enthusiasts.
